Sera Jey Library is the treasure house of the vast collection of Buddhist Texts & Scriptures of this Monastery. Infact the library was in the making right from Baxa, the initial refuge camp in India, before the reestablishment of the Monastery at Bylakuppe, as the collections that were brought along during their escape to India and additions coming in intervals from various sources.
Besides these collections, the library has a wide range of publications on Buddhism, Tibetan Literature, Language, History, References - Books & Dictionaries and Magazines.

Pupils, students from lay Tibetan School and outside visitors, visit the library for reading and references.

A three-member committee elected by the Monastery's Governing General Body for a term of three years administers the Library.

The Library has a printing section functioning under its administration. This section is categorically distinguished into two different subsections - the traditional Block Printing Section & Computer Section.

The Block Printing Section undertakes printing of the loose Tibetan texts & Scriptures in the traditional practice. The section also caters outside orders for printing.

The Computer Section is well equipped in machinery and manpower, and undertakes preprint processes from - preprint text matter making, layout & designing to publishing.
